Welcome to the Lycée Français de Madrid

A message from the Headmaster
Welcome to the Lycée Français de Madrid! As a school directly managed by the AEFE, an agency accredited by the French Department for Education, and recognised by the Spanish Department for Education, the Lycée Français de Madrid currently has more than 4,300 students, from preschool through to high school. With a 140-year presence in Madrid, it is a leading institution in the educational and cultural exchanges between France and Spain.
With two exceptional campuses, Conde de Orgaz and La Moraleja, the LFM welcomes students of more than 70 different nationalities every day. This diversity makes the Lycée a place of openness, interaction, and connection; together, students forge lifelong bonds and friendships.
At the heart of our mission is a wide range of educational pathways, school projects, and extracurricular activities, fostering mutual enrichment in a strong humanistic spirit. Our students are immersed in an international environment promoting cultural openness and multilingualism. They are driven by academic excellence and can benefit from thorough preparation for higher education, making them apt for the great challenges facing our planet and guiding them towards a confident future, with a focus on sustainable and meaningful success.
Our teams would be delighted to meet you and show you around. In the meantime, we invite you to see for yourself what makes our school such a rich and dynamic environment!
Gilles MARTINEZ, Headmaster of the LFM
An education of excellence
The education provided at the LFM follows the official curricula of the French Department for Education. Emphasis is placed on intellectual rigour, curiosity, critical thinking, student self-reliance, and multilingualism.
Each student receives support tailored to their needs, with tutoring or enrichment programmes, innovative educational projects, and a strong commitment to the success of all.
In Madrid, an outward-looking French school
For 140 years, the Lycée Français de Madrid (LFM) has been a center of academic excellence, welcoming more than 4,300 students from preschool to high school across its two campuses in Conde de Orgaz and La Moraleja.
It is part of the global network of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), which guarantees high-quality educational continuity worldwide.
Combining high academic standards, personalised support, and cultural openness, the LFM offers a comprehensive education that provides students with the tools they need to succeed in their future endeavours, whether in France, Spain, or anywhere else in the world.

A multicultural and multilingual environment
At the LFM, students grow and learn in a bicultural environment immersed both in French and Spanish cultures, and they rub shoulders with students from more than 70 countries, fostering a real international diversity. This multicultural environment is a daily asset which the school is banking on, offering several courses with a strong emphasis on foreign languages: the European Section, the International Section, and the trilingual or quadrilingual BFI (French International Baccalaureate), in French, Spanish, and English, with the extra option of German or Italian. As a result, students’ broad-mindedness turn them into enlightened young adults particularly at ease in international environments.
