On Friday, May 8th, class 306, along with their Spanish teacher Mme Montoro and Spanish History and Geography teacher Mme Fernández Canet, visited the Forensic Archaeology laboratory located at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid on the Cantoblanco campus, as part of their EPI (Interdisciplinary Project) on the Spanish Civil War.

After completing a podcast project to discover the main figures of the conflict, the EPI concluded with this visit, where students were able to learn firsthand how historical memory issues are handled in the field of archaeology—for instance, through the human remains from mass graves currently being studied in the laboratory. History undergraduate students and Dr. Ángel Fuentes guided the visit, explaining scientific research processes to the students, as well as details about degree programs in History and Archaeology.

Additionally, thanks to Anabel Pardo, curator of the Prehistory and Archaeology Laboratory, they gained insight into the study and restoration of archaeological materials such as glass, ceramics, coins, and metals.
