The students of 3ème B have prepared the exhibition “Banned Books in US School Libraries“, which will open next week at the La Moraleja library (CDI).
Through this project, the students explored the censorship faced by certain famous books, such as Art Spiegelman’s Maus or J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit, due to content deemed inappropriate by some school boards (specifically for nudity and witchcraft, respectively). Their middle school classmates will soon get to try out the interactive activities created especially for them. We hope these challenges will inspire them to dive into a few pages of these books—books that, here at the LFM, everyone is completely free to read!
