Last Friday and Saturday, the global network of French Lycée Alumni gathered for a particularly intense edition of FOMA, driven by rich discussions, collective intelligence, and the joy of reuniting.
Friday: A Prestigious Launch
The event kicked off at the Residence of France with a warm welcome cocktail hosted by the Ambassador of France to Spain, Kareen Rispal: an institutional launch that allowed everyone to get to know each other before the official sessions began.
Saturday: Reflection, Commitment, and a Vision for the Future
Hosted at the Lycée Français de Madrid and guided by our remarkable master of ceremonies, journalist Dominique Tchimbakala, we dove into the heart of today’s major challenges:
▪️ Inspiration: A powerful testimony from Mr. Miguel Ángel Moratinos, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Madrid alumnus.
▪️ Key Panel: “Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence and the Human Relationship.” A high-level debate chaired by Nobel Prize in Physics winner Serge Haroche, alongside an exceptional panel of alumni: Grégoire Genest, founder of Albert School; Marién Martín de Argila Lorente, child psychiatrist; Sami Bahri, digital transformation consultant; Charlotte Courtois, international speaker on intercultural skills; Diane de Navacelle de Coubertin, an expert dedicated to the field of sports; Daniel Ibrahim García, an EDHEC student; and even director Violeta Kreimer, fresh off her win at the 2026 Oscars!
▪️ Innovation: The official launch of the brand-new alfm.fr platform! A powerful tool to bring the alumni network together.
Afternoon: Collective Intelligence in Action
In collaborative workshops, Alumni shared their expertise on crucial topics: geopolitics, shared memory and a common future, the impact of AI, intergenerational ties, and the Union-ALFM strategy looking ahead to 2030. This work culminated in the drafting of the Madrid Declaration, which outlines alumni commitments regarding AI.
Gala Evening: A Magical Closing
The gala evening swept us away with the superb “Americalatida” concert by Fernando Egozcue and Thomas Potiron, followed by an exclusive and memorable performance by the legendary Hugues Aufray, who is also an alumnus of the Lycée Français de Madrid. A deeply moving shared experience!
🙏 A huge THANK YOU to our partners who made this great alumni gathering possible:
