Supporting students and families

At the LFM, we are committed to supporting every student and their family in their use of the French higher education application platform (“Parcoursup”). Our goal is to ensure everyone has access to clear information and tailored advice in order to build a solid, well-considered higher education plans.

To achieve this, several initiatives are organised at key moments throughout the school year:

  • In November: During the Higher Education Fair, workshops are offered to parents to help them learn how to use the Parcoursup platform.
  • For Year 13 students (“Terminale” – age 18): Conferences are organised to explain how the platform works, introduce students to the search engine, and provide guidance for developing a well-considered application strategy.
  • Individualised support: Provided by each student’s form tutor, who assists them with platform registration and guides them in selecting and prioritising their choices.
  • In December: A dedicated conference is organised for parents to explain how the platform works and outline the key application deadlines.
  • Practical workshops: Organised for students to help them draft their personal statement (“projet motivé”), an essential step in the Parcoursup application process.
  • In May: A final conference helps students and families understand how to respond to offers received through the platform and prepare for final decisions.
